JSA/Jefferson Lab High School Summer Honors Program - Summer 2024

Dear Student Applicant:

To be eligible to participate in the JSA/Jefferson Lab High School Summer Honors Program, you must attend a local high school (within 60 miles of Jefferson Lab), be at least 16 years old by the start date of the program, be in good academic standing, and maintain at least a 3.5 grade point average. Students who are selected to participate in the JSA/Jefferson Lab High School Summer Honors Program are chosen on the basis of demonstrated skills and merit. Dependents of Jefferson Lab employees are not eligible for this program.

The 2024 JSA/Jefferson Lab High School Summer Honors Program begins on June 24, 2024 and concludes on August 2, 2024. Successful applicants must be available to work the duration of the program, 6 forty-hour weeks. To apply to the JSA/Jefferson Lab High School Summer Honors Program, follow the steps listed below. You must complete a new application package for each academic year in which you wish to be considered.

  1. Complete the Student Application Form, legibly printed or typed.
  2. Have two adults who know you well (at least one from school) complete a Reference Form and submit them with your application (leave in sealed envelope). Be sure to write your name in the space indicated on the forms before giving them to your references.
  3. Return the Application and two Reference Forms (each in a sealed envelope) to the Science Education Office (at the address listed below) at Jefferson Lab.
  4. Obtain copies of your high school grades to date and a list of the classes you are currently taking. If you are selected for a personal interview, these copies must be provided to Jefferson Lab at the time of your interview.
