Monte Carlo Analysis of the Effect of Systematic Errors on Proton Radii Extractions
The aim of my project is to perform a Monte Carlo analysis of the effect of global systematic errors on proton radii extractions. When calculating the value of the proton charge radius, variations in the thickness of cryogenic targets typically produce systematic errors of around 1%. Using ROOT, I am able to write macros which can randomly simulate the errors and produce graphs of the value distribution and shift.
